Lyney is a 5-star Pyro Bow character introduced at the beginning of the Fontaine storyline, but has been previewed as early as 1.1 in trailers. This guide to the best Genshin Impact Lyney build will explain the best weapons, artifact sets, constellations, and team compositions for Lyney.
Lyney was made available on the Version 4.0 limited banners as one of the available 5-stars. As a limited 5-star unit, the only way to acquire Lyney is through wishing on his banner while it’s available. If you miss it, you’ll have to wait for a rerun.

Lyney is the first bow-wielder since Ganyu to utilize Charged Attacks as a main source of damage. Since bow-wielders take lots of time to fire their shots, you will likely benefit from shielding teammates, grouping teammates, and characters who buff Lyney’s damage while taking a short amount of time on-field. This categorizes his team role as a hypercarry, since the team is nearly entirely dependent on his personal damage output.
Additionally, his Charged Attacks are aligned with the Pneuma Arkhe, which is a special trait relevant exclusively to Fontaine enemies and puzzles. His assistant, Lynette, has the opposite alignment: Ousia. Finally, his ascension stat is CRIT Rate, which is extremely valuable for a DPS. Combined with a CRIT Rate hat and a CRIT Rate weapon, it’s possible to hit 100% CRIT Rate. However, it is always best to have exactly twice as much CRIT DMG as CRIT Rate.
